Fracture Stimulation Diagnostics
Proper design and interpretation of fracture stimulation diagnostics is beneficial to understand both the fracturing character as well as the reservoir producing mechanisms. IPT has been involved with the development of many of these fracture stimulation diagnostic techniques and applies them on a daily basis. They provide significant benefit when interpreting the near and far-field fracturing character of a formation. This helps in both the treatment implementation as well as the overall integrated optimization study process. We use practical common sense and FracproPT to design and
analyze most hydraulic fracturing related diagnostics and integrate our reservoir engineering tools in any post-closure or production
analysis.
We integrate diagnostic fracture injection tests (DFITs), pre-treatment injection design/evaluation and real-time analysis while pumping to interpret, design and optimize hydraulic fracture stimulation treatments. Our approaches also
include integration of the petroleum reservoir engineering and well completion engineering interpretation in the process.
IPT's continuous study has resulted in the development and advanced understanding of many hydraulic fracture stimulation
diagnostic methods. We have developed an improved understanding with many of these techniques that is beyond most of what is published in
the literature. Our predictive capability from most diagnostic procedures is repeatable in most reservoirs and has resulted in fracture treatment designs and reservoir development procedures that provide optimized results. |
